1. APM is deeply concerned over the dire calamity in Gaza following the resumption of large- scale military operations by the Israeli Regime for the first time since the first phase of the ceasefire went into effect on 19 January 2025.

2. The Israeli Regime had also prevented the entry of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies into the Gaza Strip, a blatant violation of the original ceasefire agreement.

3. APM is equally appalled over the situation in the West Bank. A report dated 6 March 2025 from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, covering developments from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024, details significant expansion of Israeli settlements and displacement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank including East Jerusalem.

4. The world is literally witnessing in broad daylight and in real-time the most horrendous, genocidal terror of the current century. The Israeli Regime has on record killed more than 50,000 including some 400 in the latest military strikes, and wounded more than 110,000 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children since 7 October 2023. Like putting salt on an already deep wound, that follows almost 80 years of occupation, systematic persecution, displacement, and apartheid policy. The relentless terrorism against the civilian population in Gaza clearly goes beyond the purportedly "war of existence" let alone "self-defence".

5. APM unequivocally condemns the renewal of hostilities and the large number of reported casualties. We called for an extension of the ceasefire as well as for the resumption of humanitarian aid into Gaza, for unimpeded humanitarian assistance to be reestablished.

6. The US and the West are responsible for the supply of weapons and ammunition to the Israeli Regime, yet preaching human rights and the rule of law disregarding Israel's heinous act of crime against humanity.

7. APM calls on academics worldwide, including Nobel and Peace Prize Laureates, and the free communities and countries of the world to condemn this horrific crime and to compel the Israeli Regime to stop with immediate effect the ongoing ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians. Flagrant injustices necessitate actions and remaining silent amounts to complicity in such injustices. The focus now should be on essential strategies for immediate response and sustainable reconstruction of Gaza.
